Dr. Andrew Weil, a doctor trained at Harvard, is a great advocate of 4-7-8 breathing techniques that relax the muscles and pure thoughts, and is based on ancient Indian practice.

This technique ensures if more oxygen enters the lungs and therefore in the whole body, and so it relaxes.

Dr. Weil recommends this technique, not only at bedtime, but also during the day when we are stressed.

Sleeping in 60 seconds:

1. Exhale fully air through the mouth with a loud hissing.
2. Close your mouth, breathe quietly through your nose and mentally count to four.
3. Hold your breath and count to seven.
4. Replace the air and exhale completely through your mouth with a loud hiss and let it takes eight seconds.
5. Inhale and repeat the cycle three times in a total of four breaths.
