Stress fattens women but not men

It has been shown that stress has no significant impact on the accumulation of excess weight in men, but is, by contrast, stress which had an important role in the risk for fatting among women, the scientists of the University of Michigan have published.

Stress has played an important role in the risk for fattening among women, especially if it was case of stress experienced before 16 years of age.
The survey was conducted in the United States, with the participation of about 3,617 people, who were followed for 15 years.

Experts write that women are more prone to greater food consumption after exposure to stress, as opposed to men who are in the majority of cases withdraw into themselves or turn to alcohol.

Similar differences in the responses of men and women are particularly observed in people suffering from depression.
