The sleeping can significantly contribute to reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, says the result of scientific research.

The research results of scientists from Stony Brook University (USA) have shown that sleeping on the sides contributes to the “cleansing of the brain”, much more than it makes sleeping on your back or on your stomach, and that this type of sleep may help in reducing the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists who analyzed numerous brain scans, concluded that sleeping on the sides helps the lymphatic system, which is defined as a second circulatory system, which is the system that eliminates toxins, accelerates blood circulation and kills bacteria and viruses.

Experts have pointed out that sleeping on the sides prevents the accumulation of unwanted chemical elements and that this position of sleeping next to Alzheimer’s disease may reduce the risk of Parkinson’s and other diseases.

The research is published in the journal “Jurnal of Neuroscience”.
