The Fingerprint is not the Only thing that is Unique to our Body. Here’s what Else Makes Us Special!

When we look crime series, we learned that the fingerprint is unique and that is why is used for identification. But a fingerprint is not the only thing that is unique to us. There are other parts of the body that are so special that any of us could’ve be identified on the basis of them, and this knowledge increasingly find use to forensics.

1)  Ears

Maybe it does not seem like it, but the ears are also unique and special. Everyone has different lines and curves, and the most special is the edge of ear. Compared with fingerprint, which can be changed if you have scar, the ear remains the same across the whole life according to research at the University of Southampton. From the moment of birth the ears are already fully formed. The down edge of the ear could be changed, but everything else remains the same – explains study leader Mark Nixon.

Nixon, with his team, has developed a program that can identify people by their ears precisely with 99.6 percent.

2)  Iris of the eye

Iris of the eye is the colored part of the eye in the form of a disc, is located between the cornea and mucous membrane. This part of the eye, become another useful tool in forensics. This is because, although the color and structure of the iris is largely determined by genetics, details of the sample on it are not. It is formed by tightly clasped membrane tissue still unborn and then, before birth, create the retina. This process creates unique structural pattern.

3)  Tongue

A bite for several decades is used in forensics, since the seventies, for identification, but in fact the only specific and unchanging part of the mouth is tongue. AND even it is not fully proven but every person has a special tongue, the researchers argue that this organ is adequate to identify because it is impossible to falsify its imprint.

4)  Walking

Everyone is moving in its own way and it’s not just moving the legs, but the whole body. Within this concept, the researchers found 24 components that make up one’s move, and according to which everyone could be recognized. Nowadays, there are programs with 80 percent precisely could analyze the human walk.
