Most people, after buying the famous summer foods, tasty of tomato will keep them in the fridge in order to preserve their freshness. However, scientists from the Agricultural Society of French claim just the opposite.

They confirm it with numerous studies that by the preservation of tomato in the refrigerator it quickly becomes soft and loses its nutrients and its characteristic flavor is weak.

Tomato originates from warm climates, and its storage in the refrigerator comes to chemical changes that cause the disintegration of cells. This occurs already at a temperature lower than 50 ºF (10 ºC), while most of the refrigerator has temperature  35 ºF (2 ºC )to 45 ºF (6 ºC)

However, if you bought a tomato that is already soft and despised, then putting in the fridge is your only option as it keeps fresh a little more.
